Expert Witness Fee Schedule

A $10,000 retainer is required upon engagement of expert witness services. All work performed, including research, communications, and report writing, will be billed at an hourly rate of $795, deducted from the retainer.

Printing fees: Report printing up to 33 pages, is billed at $47.
​

Court appearances: Appearances in court, including travel time from departure to return, are billed at $1,600 per hour.
​

Travel exceeding 80 kilometres will be charged at the Court appearance hourly rate, and accommodation and meals where applicable will be charged at the actual cost.

Any unused portion of the retainer will be refunded to the client. In many cases, expert witness fees may be recoverable upon a successful court ruling or hearing.

Once 90% of the retainer is utilised, a replenishment of the retainer is required to continue services.

Cancellation Fee: Where the practitioner is required to attend court and cancellation occurs, this time shall be paid as below in addition to non-refundable expenses incurred:

With less 2 working days notice of cancellation: $1600

With more than 2 working days notice but less than 7 working days notice of cancellation: $795

Where the practitioner's expert witness consultation has been booked and cancellation occurs, this time shall be paid as below in addition to non-refundable expenses incurred:

Where a request for a report is cancelled, the full fee is payable if the report has been prepared. If the report has not been prepared but the examination has been conducted, the hourly fee for the work done will be charged.
